Talk About Adventure

People can be adventurous in different forms. Some choose sports, eating exotic foods, traveling, fashion , writing stories or maybe hair. Yes, hair styling to be specific. If you would ask me, it has been more of a hobby now than just a mandatory hygiene for man and woman. And throughout the years, I think I've done a lot of hairstyles already. From long to pixie cut. Straight to curly. I just love styling my hair. Just to let you know, I was born with straight hair. I've had straight hair until freshman(high school) year.

When I was young, I was too lazy fixing and combing my hair. Waking up with tangles really made it hard to comb. Imagine the agony of pulling out the comb and it doesn't. It hurts. You wouldn't want to have it done every morning. That's torture! I usually wake up every morning and eat breakfast with a messy hair, and I really didn't care. I wasn't very conscious at that time. Talking about a good hair "day" with that. But having a worst haircut  -it's just so unbearable.

One day my grandmother wanted my hair cut. I really didn't want to because my hair was still short, but she insisted. She told me that they will just cut my bangs but to my horror, the hairstylist cut it all. Looking myself in front of the mirror, I looked ridiculous. I cried. That was not the only unfortunate salon event. It was just the start.

I was first year in high school when I noticed that my hair started to curl. At first it was OK but it was getting worse so I started fixing it up and tie it in a ponytail, like all the time. I really had no idea how to style my hair and I hated it. I always have a bad hair day. Going to a salon could fix the problem but.... maybe NOT. Having a thick curly hair means war to the hairstylist and they even make fun of it. It was depressing... Just by entering the salon, I can see the look in their eyes as if Cookie monster has just arrived for a haircut. I mean, does my hair really look that bad? I was getting tired of people telling negative comments about my hair. That's when I've decided to do something about it. Hair rebonding. That's the only solution.

I had my hair treatment in Laguna. It was referred to me by Fish who has the same struggle. It took eight hours for that treatment and it was worth it. My hair was straight again and it gave me confidence. It's amazing how a nice hair can change a person's mood. With that, I started to dress well and put make-up on. ha ha!

One time my friend and I went to a salon to have her hair curled. I was just sitting at the corner and this Korean guy approached me and asked if I would like to have my hair cut. I was hesitant because I just had my hair rebonded. But my friend also insisted. She said that she's going to pay for it. So he started cutting my hair and was amazed just how smooth he swings his scissors like a real pro! My hair was flying everywhere! When he was finished, I can't help myself but smile. I really liked it. That moment I've had my first amazing haircut. I never thought that a nice haircut can make a difference. That moment was the start of my haircut adventure.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To all girls & ladies,
Through experience I realize that it's not really about the hair, make-up, or nice clothes that would make a person feel better. The truth is, it's really about accepting who you are. (naks!) You know what I mean. :) Don't listen or get affected or even get angry to those who give negative comments about your hair or skin color etc. OK, ibang topic na to. haha! If you guys have questions or comments send me a message. I'd be happy to help. :)
